Liverpool and Everton have been put on alert after reports in France have claimed that Marseille captain Steve Mandanda is considering a move to the Premier League.

The goalkeeper's contract expires at the end of the season and he is reportedly on the lookout for a new challenge.

Everton and Liverpool are both being tipped to launch moves for a new 'keeper in January.

According to Canal+, a number of Premier League sides are keeping an eye on Mandanda's situation at Marseille and one unnamed club have already submitted a bid.

Mandanda, who is France's No 2 goalkeeper behind Tottenham's Hugo Lloris, has made over 300 appearances for Marseille since joining them from Le Havre in 2007.
