New AC Milan boss Vincenzo Montella has urged the club to beat Liverpool to the signing of Dinamo Zagreb starlet Marko Pjaca.

The Croatian winger has impressed at Euro 2016 and watching scouts have returned to their sides with glowing reports.

Liverpool are one of those monitoring the winger, while Italian champions Juventus are interested in the 21-year-old too.

However, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan have stepped up their pursuit after appointing Montella as their new manager.

The former Fiorentina and Sampdoria boss was appointed today on a two-year deal and he is already set on improving his squad.

Pjaca is reportedly high on Montella's shortlist and he has told the Milan board to quickly contact Dinamo Zagreb about striking a deal.
