Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City have been placed on red alert after Ilkay Gundogan told Borussia Dortmund he will not sign a new contract, according to reports in Germany.

The midfielder's current deal expires in June 2017 and Dortmund have been trying to extend it since the summer.

Gundogan, though, has been refusing to agree fresh terms after protracted talks with the club.

And now, according to Bild, the 25-year-old has told Dortmund he will definitely not be signing a new deal.

The Germany international has been drawing interest from Arsenal and Manchester City, as well as Italian champions Juventus, while Jurgen Klopp is keen to bring his former player to Anfield.

News of Gundogan's refusal to sign a new contract is now expected to spark a summer bidding war.
