Manchester City will offer Ilkay Gundogan a five-year contract to join Pep Guardiola's revolution, according to reports.

Both Arsenal and Liverpool are thought to be keen on midfielder Gundogan but are yet to make an approach.

Last week it was claimed Guardiola, who will become City boss this summer, had contacted Borussia Dortmund about a possible deal.

And City appear to have ramped up their efforts since then to sign the Germany international, with a contract now in the pipeline.

According to the Daily Mail, City expect to conclude a £23million switch for Gundogan at the end of the season.

Liverpool were reportedly eyeing a £20m deal that would have seen the 25-year-old reunited with Anfield boss Jürgen Klopp.

Gundogan is under contract at Dortmund until 2017 and could leave for free next summer.

Arsenal are said to have looked into exploiting that situation with offering a bargain deal for Gundogan to take him on a year before the contract ends.

However, his agent and uncle Ilhan Gundogan was recently spotted with City sporting director Txiki Begiristain in Amsterdam.
