Daniel Sturridge insists he is ‘fit and ready to go’ after returning to training this week.

The striker has joined his teammates in their daily sessions at Melwood this week after recovering from the knee injury that had ruled him out of Liverpool’s last seven matches.

Now Sturridge admits he is relishing the prospect of getting back to action under new manager, Jürgen Klopp.

“I’m fit and ready to go and it’s going to be a great time for me,” said the No.15, speaking at the launch of LFC Retail’s Signature collection on Wednesday evening.

“It’s been great under the new manager. I’ve been back training for the past couple of days and I was training when he first arrived.

“It’s an exciting time to be at the club and I’m enjoying working with him and the style of football. It’s important for us to understand what he wants us to do.”
