Darren Bent is tipping former teammate Jordan Henderson to be a success at Liverpool - both on the pitch and in the dressing room.

The midfielder completed his transfer from Sunderland on Thursday and Bent, who played alongside the 20-year-old at the Stadium of Light, believes he will prove a fine acquisition for the Reds.

"When someone tells him he can't do something or that he's not good enough, it's straight on to the training ground to prove them wrong," said Bent, now of Aston Villa.

"He just wants to improve. There's no side to him, nothing cynical. He likes a laugh and a joke in the changing room, but at the end of the day, he is what he is - a nice, grounded young lad."
