Jürgen Klopp is hopeful Mohamed Salah will be fit for Tuesday night's Champions League clash with Manchester City at Etihad Stadium.

The forward was left out of the matchday squad for Saturday's Merseyside derby meeting with Everton at Goodison Park after sustaining a groin injury in the first leg of the quarter-final tie with Pep Guardiola's side in midweek.

However, Klopp is optimistic on his chances of being ready for the return meeting - as well as those of Andy Robertson, who missed the encounter with the Blues due to a calf issue.

The manager said: "Mo, he's injured. I don't think it is really serious and he can be available for Tuesday but for today he wasn't available. It's the same with Robbo."
