Jose Enrique welcomed a lucky Liverpool supporter to Anfield on Wednesday afternoon for a special EA SPORTS FIFA15 best-of-three contest that brought out the competitive side of both participants.

Damien Tuck, a 17-year-old Reds fan, was the randomly selected winner of a competition on this website last weekend for the chance to tackle a first-team player on the popular football simulation.

Kopites were offered an opportunity to scoop the prize by answering a poser related to both FIFA and Liverpool, with Daniel Sturridge the correct response with regards to which star had scored the most goals for the team on the game.

A well-known connoisseur of FIFA, Enrique eagerly took up the challenge at the club's home stadium and, though the visiting youngster was confident of his skills beforehand, the defender warned that he would be a formidable opponent.

The early exchanges of a practice match suggested the clash would be hardly-fought too, which proved true when the genuine fixtures soon took place and both showed their concentration and finesse with the controller.

But it was ultimately Enrique who reigned supreme, securing consecutive narrow 2-1 victories over the determined Damien - a regular gamer himself - to maintain his reputation as a master player on FIFA.

The teenage supporter did depart Anfield with a number of mementos, however. The Liverpool full-back signed a 2014-15 home shirt for his combatant and posed for photographs to ensure Damien had a day to remember at his favourite club.

"He played really well and I really enjoyed it," said the Spaniard afterwards. "I thought he was going to win the friendly we played at first. I think he would beat Suso and [Javier] Manquillo, for sure."

Before enjoying a tour of Anfield, Damien added: "I've been playing FIFA for quite a while now. I play it non-stop at home. But I have to give it to Jose, he is a good player - better than I expected!"
