Ladies star nominated for award
Liverpool Ladies midfielder Fara Williams has been nominated for the Sky Sports News sportswoman of the month award for August.
During the month, the 30-year-old became England's most capped player of all time when she won her 130th cap, beating the previous record held by Rachel Yankey.
Besides her outstanding performances as Liverpool continued the defence of their Women's Super League title, Williams was also part of the national team that qualified for next year's World Cup finals in Canada.
Six contenders have been selected for the prize's shortlist: Claudia Fragapane, Fara Williams, Jazz Carlin, Fran Halsall, Jo Pavey, Emily Scarratt.
