Liverpool Ladies play their first competitive home game of 2012 this weekend when they take on Arsenal in the FA WSL Continental Cup.

The Reds will take on last season's treble winners on March 18 at Skelmersdale United, Liverpool Ladies' home ground.

The club have also unveiled three new signings ahead of the weekend - Dani Lea, Hannah Keryakoplis and Nicky Davies - and are hoping to announce a handful of additional transfers for the start of the WSL league season in early April.

Defender Dani Lea, 17, an England U19 player, goalkeeper Nicky Davies, 27, and Welsh international Hannah Keryakoplis, 17, will get the chance to make their home debuts, alongside New Zealand international Aroon Clansey who signed in February.

The Conti Cup's format has been changed for the 2012 season with the eight WSL teams divided into two groups, playing three round-robin matches before the Olympics break in July.

The semi-finals will take place in September between group winners and runners up and the final is played in October. Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Lincoln make up Group A.

Robbie Johnson, Liverpool Ladies manager, said: "It feels like a long time since we played our last competitive game at Skelmersdale and the whole team can't wait to take to the pitch again.

"Arsenal will provide a tough test for us.  They have some fantastic players and were the standout team of 2012. Yet, we're going into the match with confidence and know that we have the capability to match them across the pitch.

"Our new signings have helped to bolster the squad and we're confident of securing some key target players before the league season starts, which will stand us in really good stead to do well this season in the league and the cup.

"Sunday's game is set to be a quality, fast-paced and entertaining match and we're looking forward to welcoming our fans back to Skelmersdale for the new season."

Liverpool Ladies v Arsenal Ladies takes place on March 18, 2012 at Skelmersdale & Ormskirk College Stadium. Kick-off is 2pm. Tickets cost £4.50 for adults and children accompanied by adults will receive free entry. Family tickets (two adults, three children) cost £8.
