The Liverpool Football Club Supporters' Committee has confirmed Richard Pedder as the new representative for Merseyside fans.

Pedder has been elected to replace the late Paul Rice, who passed away in January after a long battle with illness.

Chair of the LFC Supporters' Committee, Karen Gill, said: "We were all extremely sad to learn that Paul Rice, our representative for Merseyside supporters, passed away last month.

"Paul was an extremely valuable member of the Supporters' Committee and he will be sorely missed.

"Being such a vibrant life force, however, he would have recognised the necessity for moving forward.

"During the selection process last year, reserves for the committee members were also selected, though we did not imagine that we would be required to call upon them under such sad circumstances.

"Our first reserve, Richard Pedder, will be taking over Paul's role as the representative for Merseyside supporters and we would all like to wish him the best of luck in his new role."
