Jose Enrique admitted Liverpool had paid the price for their profligacy following Saturday's 1-1 draw with Norwich City.

The Reds carved out countless openings against the Canaries but were left ruing their inability to build on Craig Bellamy's opener when Grant Holt levelled on the hour mark.

Enrique is adamant Kenny Dalglish's side should have claimed all three points and reckons they would have notched a handful on another day.

"In the first half we played really well and had a lot of chances but I don't think we played the second like the first," he said.

"We deserved three points. We had a lot of chances to score goals and I don't know what happened.

"I think we had some bad luck, it became frustrating for the players who were trying and trying.

"In the second half we dropped a bit and they scored an amazing goal.

"We can't do that. We have to play like we did in the first half."

Holt's second-half leveller means Liverpool have yet to keep a shut-out at Anfield so far this season.

However, Enrique feels that statistic is irrelevant in the context of the draw with Paul Lambert's men.

"A clean sheet is important but if we don't have a clean sheet and score two or three goals the result would have been the same," he added.

"The team played really well and scored one goal but we could have scored five."
