Fabio Aurelio joined Marie Curie fundraisers to give his backing to the cancer charity's Liverpool Hospice trek to his home country of Brazil.

The hospice is looking for people to join 'Team Liverpool' for the 10-day event, which includes five days of trekking through the tropical paradise of Brazil's Bocaina National Park.

Fundraiser Colette Byrne said: "Participants will discover the wilderness and spectacular biodiversity that makes up the Atlantic Rainforest, as well as mountains, hidden waterfalls and rainforest pools before heading to Rio de Janeiro to explore the Marvellous City, as it is known locally."

The Marie Curie Hospice in Liverpool costs £4.4 million a year to run, and provides free care and support to over 1,100 local patients and their families each year.

Aurelio said: "Brazil is an amazing country, and what better way to see it than taking part in the Marie Curie Hospice Liverpool Brazil Trek. It is a great way of raising funds to help people in the Liverpool community and I wish everyone good luck."
