The Liverpool FC Academy last week paid special acknowledgement to Stephen Packer, who sadly lost his battle with cancer in November 2012.

The Academy’s head of education, Phil Roscoe, joined Stephen’s parents Chris and Vicky at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital to view two rooms dedicated to his memory.

The rooms were funded with £12,000 raised by the Academy’s staff and players by completing the Three Peaks Challenge on a 24-and-a-half-mile walk through the Yorkshire Pennines.

Roscoe said: “It was a privilege and honour for us all to be able to support the Packer family by raising funds through the Three Peaks Challenge.

“To have two rooms at Alder Hey dedicated to him is fantastic. Stevie was a brilliant kid and is still sorely missed at the Academy.”
