Liverpool have contacted FC Porto over winger Yacine Brahimi but are yet to make a concrete bid for the Algerian winger.

Brahimi was a rare bright spot in a disappointing campaign for the Portuguese giants, and is expected to depart the club this summer.

Porto want over £30million for the tricky 26-year-old, but the Reds have scoffed at such an asking price.

Any deal for the Algeria international would be complicated by 50 per cent of the player’s economic rights being owned by a third party, but sources insist an agreement between the club and stakeholders would allow Brahimi to leave without much dispute.
