Liverpool have made an approach for FC Porto winger Yacine Brahimi, according to reports in Portugal.

Brahimi, the Algeria international who has spent the last two seasons in the Portuguese Primeira Liga, was signed from Spanish side Grenada after starting his career in France with Rennes.

And although never prolific in front of goal, the 26-year-old has been in supremely impressive form for Porto en route to their third placed finish this year; his quick feet, dazzling skills and desire to run with the ball making him one of Europe’s hottest prospects.

According to O Jogo, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are one of the many clubs interested in signing Brahimi this summer and have already made an enquiry into his availability.

Any potential move wouldn’t be straight forward though. With a buyout clause of €60million, Porto only own 50 per cent of the player’s economic rights, meaning the transfer fee could come at a premium for the Reds.

Wolfsburg and Milan are also rumoured to be interested.
