Roma midfielder Leandro Paredes has attracted interest from Liverpool and Manchester City, according to reports in Italy.

The 22-year-old returned to the Stadio Olimpico this summer after a stellar season on loan at Serie A rivals Empoli.

Paredes helped Empoli to a top-10 finish in 33 league appearances, chipping in with two goals along the way.

And according to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, a host of European clubs have set their sights on the Argentinian, who has represented his country at youth level.

Liverpool and City are reportedly keen to bring him to the Premier League, while AC Milan and Zenit St Petersburg are also apparently showing interest.

Roma are said to have set a £16million asking price on the former Boca Juniors man, which both Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola are prepared to meet.

Paredes joined Roma in the summer of 2015 after a season-long loan spell from Boca for around £5m, but has failed to make a league appearances since.
