Liverpool have entered the race to sign Bayer Leverkusen star and ex-Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez, according to Spanish source Don Balon.

The Reds have begun searching for a new forward and are keen on Chicharito, even though the 27-year-old cannot play for a new club this season having already played for two teams.

Any move for the Mexican would need to happen next summer, and Liverpool will face competition from north London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham for his signature.
