Liverpool and Tottenham eye former Manchester United striker
Liverpool and Tottenham are plotting moves for Javier Hernandez.
The Premier League duo are planning rival offers to bring the former Manchester United striker back to England.
Both Jurgen Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino are lining up potential targets ahead of the transfer window re-opening next month.
One of Klopp’s priorities is a winger while Pochettino’s main transfer aim is to end his search for a new No.10.
But both clubs also have striker concerns and Valencia’s interest in Bayer Leverkusen’s Hernandez could force them to act in January.
Valencia are fourth-bottom in La Liga and have identified Hernandez as the man to fire them away from trouble.
And they are prepared to give their English rivals for the Mexican’s signature a real headache by offering to meet his £33.5m buyout clause next month.
Spurs would certainly want to try to negotiate a lower fee.
Despite the summer arrival of £17m Vincent Janssen, Spurs still have concerns about their options up top.
Premier League-proven Hernandez is a potential solution in both clubs’ sights.
He has got his career back on track in Germany after falling out of favour at United under Louis van Gaal, scoring 33 goals in 60 appearances since joining Leverkusen for £7.3m last summer.
