Liverpool and Arsenal both had scouts in attendance as Charlton forward Ademola Lookman scored a double past Scunthorpe in the first round of the FA Cup on Saturday.

Lookman has scored eight goals in 39 appearances for Charlton since making his debut for the League One outfit last year and the 19-year-old is being watched by a number of top clubs.

The Daily Mirror suggest both the Gunners and the Reds have been in pursuit of the young Englishman for some time and the Premier League giants have stepped up their interest in recent weeks.

It’s understood Everton and Manchester City also had representatives monitoring Lookman at the Valley at the weekend.

The highly-rated teenager impressed for the England U19 side which competed at the European Championship over the summer.

Lookman failed to find the net for the Three Lions but was at the heart of the side which reached the semi-finals of the tournament.
