Liverpool’s pursuit of Joao Mario shows no sign of letting up as the club are ready to table an improved offer for the midfielder.

The Reds are said to have had an opening bid of £33.5million rebuffed by Sporting Lisbon for the Euro 2016 winner earlier in the summer.

According to A Bola, however, boss Jurgen Klopp remains keen on the 23-year-old Portugal international and will encourage the club to put more money on the table.

Liverpool could face competition, though, as Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan are all believed to be interested in Mario, who is also a Portuguese Cup and Super Cup winner.
