Liverpool and Everton are set to go head-to-head for Fenerbahce left-back Caner Erkin, according to reports.

Erkin's contract with the Turkish side runs out at the end of the season and he's yet to agree a new deal.

Inter Milan were said to be showing interesting in the 27-year-old and had reportedly agreed a pre-contract agreement.

However, Erkin's agent dismissed the claims, telling Turkish publication FutbolArena 'no deal had been reached'.

And according to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo the defender is a target for both Merseyside clubs.

The article names Erkin in a best 11 of free agents and claims the full-back will not sign a new deal with Fenerbahce.

Erkin has been with the Istanbul-based club for six years, making 155 league appearances and also has 42 caps for Turkey.
