Alex Teixeira has left Shakhtar Donetsk's training camp as Liverpool continue to try and agree a deal for the forward.

Teixeira is heading to Brazil from Florida where he has spent time during a warm weather camp.

Earlier today he admitted he was hopeful a deal could be agreed with Liverpool.

"The team received one official offer from Liverpool,” Teixeira told Anfield HQ.

“It was rejected. I don’t know why. It was a great offer.

"It is frustrating but the manager and club president decided against it so now I am just waiting. Trying to be patient.

“It (Liverpool) is a huge club so many great players have passed through there. It would be an honour to defend the Liverpool shirt.

“There has only been one offer of 32m euros and Shakhtar rejected it. I know my agent is still attempting everything possible to help me get to Liverpool.

“I want to be there but that is up to the club president. Now I can only hope. I don’t know what else to say.”

Teixeira may be heading back to Brazil for treatment on a hamstring strain he picked up but his departure from Florida could also mean there has been a breakthrough in negotiations.

Liverpool had their opening £24million bid rejected but have continued talks over the weekend.

Jurgen Klopp insisted he was not ready to spend crazy money this month but is keen to bolster his squad.

Yesterday Teixeira was pictured with a Liverpool fan and today he spoke exclusively to a fan website as he bids to force a move through.

Liverpool have also been linked with a move for Celta Vigo striker Nolito who has a £13million buyout clause.

A move for Nolito shows there is a fear that the complex deal for Teixeira may fall through.
