Liverpool are ready to try and finally sign Alex Teixeira once the season is over, according to reports.

The Reds pushed hard to get the Shakhtar Donetsk forward in January, with three different bids being rejected for his services.

But while a deal couldn’t be agreed, the Daily Express says Liverpool will try again in the summer and hope to do business.

Shakhtar would prefer to sell then as a potential bidding war could take place, with Chelsea, Roma and Inter Milan all thought to be keen.

Teixeira has a buy-out clause set at £53.3million.
