Ajax sporting director Marc Overmars has ruled out the possibility of Anwar El Ghazi leaving this month.

Premier League pair Liverpool and Manchester United have been keeping tabs on the Netherlands international with a view to a January move.

Both Jurgen Klopp and Louis van Gaal are keen to strengthen their attacking ranks before the window closes and have been linked with £8million bids.

But Overmars insists the 20-year-old winger will remain at the Amsterdam Arena for at least the remainder of the season.

“The player is not for sale and no club has come forward in a concrete way for El Ghazi with an economic offer,” he told Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.

El Ghazi broke into the Ajax first team last season, scoring 10 goals in his debut campaign, and has continued his form with another eight to his name this term.

The youngster's performances in the Eredivisie have also attracted interest from Serie A giants AC Milan.
