Ceri Holland joined Liverpool FC Women in January 2021 and was rewarded with a new deal on July 5 2022.
The midfielder sealed her move to the Reds after spending four years in the United States competing in the college programme with the University of Kansas.
Holland, a Wales international, had been part of the development programme at Manchester City for three years before crossing the Atlantic.
“It was one of the best decisions of my life, honestly, to go out there and just to experience a new culture, a new country and it made me grow a lot, not just as a player but as a person,” she said.
Speaking about her new deal, LFC Women manager Matt Beard said: “Ceri came on leaps and bounds last year. Tactically she was challenged at the start of the season and she came through with flying colours.
“In the national team she’s played full-back, she’s played wide. For us, predominantly as a holding midfield player or an attacking midfield player. She’s very versatile and can cover numerous positions for us.
“But her athleticism, her strength, I think that will cause lots of midfield players and defenders problems in the Women’s Super League.”
