Republic of Ireland international striker Leanne Kiernan joined Liverpool FC Women in June 2021.

She had spent the previous three seasons with West Ham United in the Women's Super League under the tutelage of Reds boss Matt Beard.

A striker who can also play as a winger, Kiernan began her career with Shelbourne in her native Ireland, where she was a league and cup winner.

On signing for the Reds, Kiernan, who hails from County Cavan, said: “The club is a great name and it definitely has great ambition. I really enjoyed the phone call with Beardie, and it grabbed me towards Liverpool and it’s just an exciting time to be here.”

Kiernan finished 2021-22 as top scorer for the Reds with 14 goals as Beard's side won the FA Women's Championship and gained promotion back to the Women's Super League.

She was also crowned Liverpool FC Women's Standard Chartered Player of the Season following a vote on Liverpoolfc.com.
