LFC Retail recently donated its annual cheque to the Owen McVeigh Foundation, taking the overall total to £100,000 from the proceeds of the tribute collection in Owen's name.

LFC launched the range to support the charity with annual donations, and this year the club donated £41,000, which saw the total since launch pass the £100k mark.

This special, limited-edition range features a poignant silhouetted image of a dad and lad hand in hand, with the simple message of ‘It’s off to the match we go’ – a way to remember Owen, a passionate Red who sadly passed away in 2015 at only 11 years old, shortly after being diagnosed with leukaemia.

The Owen McVeigh Foundation, a Merseyside charity, was set up in his memory and creates life memories for children suffering with cancer.

Included in the range are a mug, keyring, caps and hoodies, a magnet and pin badge, as well as a T-shirt for adults and juniors.

The range is sold through the club’s official retail stores, online store and app, with 100 per cent of all proceeds from the sales going straight to the Owen McVeigh Foundation.

To receive this donation, Owen’s parents Mark and Jo attended a recent match at Anfield, where LFC ambassador Ian Rush made the official presentation pitchside.

Mark McVeigh said: “It still blows our mind that the Owen McVeigh Foundation merchandise is still in the club shops at Liverpool FC Retail, it fills us with a sense of pride that Owen’s club has supported the foundation in his name for so many years now.

“We would like to thank all the LFC supporters and everyone at the club for the fantastic support over the years, and with this donation we can continue to create life memories for children and their families living with cancer in the Merseyside area.

“The Liverpool fanbase always made sure we never walked alone. Thank you from myself, Jo and everyone from the Owen McVeigh Foundation.”
