Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is targeting a move for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud when the window re-opens.

The German under-21 international was a target for the Reds in the summer but they failed to push through a deal and the youngster remained with the Bundesliga club.

However the 20-year-old remains on the radar of Klopp, and reports are rife the Reds boss sent his scouts to watch the player in action when Gladbach where hammered by Manchester City in the Champions League in midweek.

Gladbach have managed to fight off all interest in their young star, but they are facing an uphill battle as the player is due to fall out of contract in 2018 and is so far refusing to sign a new deal.

The German outfit could be forced to cash in and Liverpool are hoping that an offer in the region of £25million will finally see the player head to Anfield.
