Klopp closes in on Wijnaldum capture
Liverpool have agreed a £25million fee with Newcastle for midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum.
Jurgen Klopp has taken his side to California for their US tour and hopes Wijnaldum, who figured as a late substitute for Newcastle on Wednesday, will join them soon.
Wijnaldum scored 11 goals last season and ended the campaign as Newcastle's top scorer but his form dipped towards the end of the campaign which saw them relegated.
He joined the Championship club in a £14.5m deal from then-Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven last summer.
Klopp has so far added four players to a squad that finished a disappointing eighth in the Premier League last season.
