Liverpool are reportedly set to challenge West Ham and Arsenal for the signature of Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Havard Nordtveit.

Nordtveit will move to the Premier League at the end of the season after deciding against extending his contract with his current club.

A tweet from Borussia Monchengladbach's official Twitter account said: "Havard Nordtveit has opted not to extend his contract and will move to England in the summer."

Nordtveit was at Arsenal between 2007 and 2010 but never played for the Gunners before joining Monchengladbach, where he has made 179 appearances.

Liverpool are set to make an offer for Arsenal youngster Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, according to reports.

Football Insider claim the Reds will bid £30million for the England attacker, who is currently out with a knee injury.

Oxlade-Chamberlain's contract at Arsenal is set to expire in 2018 and the Gunners are hopeful of persuading the youngster to renew his deal.

However, he is said to want over £100,000-a-week to stay at the Emirates.

Liverool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea are all reportedly keeping tabs on the 22-year-old's situation.
