Joel Matip rejects new Schalke contract
Liverpool are clear to sign Joel Matip as he has rejected a new Schalke deal, reports say.
The Reds have been targeting the Cameroonian defender, 24, and are hoping to land him on a free at the end of the season.
And there is nothing in their way after he rejected a new contract offer from the German giants, according to Reviersport.
Matip is keen on a move abroad and an announcement about his future is set to be made next week.
And Liverpool are believed to be the favourites to sign him.
