The agent of Robert Lewandowski has admitted possible interest from Liverpool, but stressed that he is contracted to Bayern Munich.

The prolific Poland international, who has scored an amazing 14 goals in just 11 Bundesliga matches for the reigning champions and current leaders Bayern, has been linked with a switch to Anfield since his former Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp replaced Brendan Rodgers in the hot-seat last month.

And, while Lewandowski's agent Maik Barthel has confirmed that there has been interest from England for the player's signature, he played down the possibility of a transfer in the near future as he is under contract at the Allianz Arena until summer 2019 after penning a five-year deal last year.

Barthel said: "It would be wrong to say there is no interest from the Premier League. But all of us should respect that Robert has a contract at FC Bayern."

Meanwhile, former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso is also being linked with a return to the Merseysiders from Bayern Munich. The 33-year-old Spanish star, who is attracting interest from Qatari and MLS sides, will be out of contract next summer and is unlikely to pen an extension.
