The manager provided a comprehensive update on the fitness of his squad as he spoke to the media ahead of the meeting with Manchester United on Monday.

Klopp provided encouraging news on four players and confirmed that Joe Gomez has made a welcome return to full training with his teammates.

Earlier in the day, it was revealed that Klopp had been named the Premier League Manager of the Month for September after leading his team to three consecutive wins.

Eight of Liverpool’s Premier League fixtures in December and January were changed for television coverage, including the first Merseyside derby of the season at Goodison Park.

And the U23s claimed a handsome 6-1 victory in their friendly with Kilmarnock at Marine – with Cameron Brannagan and Toni Gomes each scoring twice.
