Liverpool have been drawn to face Derby County away from home in the third round of the EFL Cup.

The ties for the next stage of the competition were decided on Wednesday night, with the Reds paired against the Championship side.

Jürgen Klopp’s team – who were runners-up in the tournament last term – booked their place in round three by beating Burton Albion 5-0 at Pirelli Stadium on Tuesday.

Now they are set to face Derby, who secured progression by dramatically overcoming Carlisle United 14-13 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

The tie will take place in the week commencing September 19.
