This week's 'Press Box' panel was full of praise for Adam Lallana following such an impressive group-stage showing by the Liverpool midfielder at Euro 2016.

The 28-year-old has started all three of England’s matches at the tournament so far and caught the eye in each, with his energy and ability to hold the ball helping to connect the attack.

Roy Hodgson’s team are into the last 16 in France after finishing second in Group B – and Lallana has been one of their top performers according to those on the latest show.

The Liverpool Echo’s James Pearce commented: “He has been really impressive. The one disappointment is just that end product, but managers love him.

“There’s a good reason why he always gets picked at Liverpool and why Hodgson has put so much faith in him – because the shifts he puts in are unbelievable.

“He was at it again in the first half against Slovakia and in the two games before that, absolutely outstanding the way he presses and wins the ball back, he is clever and his movement is good. It’s just a shame there wasn’t that end product.”

Pearce, Chris Bascombe of The Telegraph and Sky Sports’ Rob Palmer also discussed the displays of Nathaniel Clyne and Jordan Henderson on Monday night – watch more in the free clip below.
