Jordan Henderson appeared from the bench as England warmed up for Euro 2016 with a 2-1 win over Turkey on Sunday evening.

The Liverpool captain picked up valuable minutes in his bid to return to full fitness after a knee injury, replacing Jack Wilshere just past the hour mark.

And so he was on the pitch as Jamie Vardy fired home from close range late on to clinch the victory for the Three Lions.

Henderson, along with Reds teammates Adam Lallana, Nathaniel Clyne and Daniel Sturridge, who were rested for this game, will now prepare for the challenge of Australia.

Ange Postecoglou's men visit the Stadium of Light on Friday for another friendly encounter.
