Jürgen Klopp is delighted to see Jon Flanagan in such a 'good moment' and reveals that the defender is working hard to reach 100 per cent fitness.

After overcoming a nightmare 20-month spell out with injury earlier this season, Flanagan had a week to remember as he celebrated signing a new contract by captaining the side for the first time away at Southampton last Sunday.

Klopp has since taken the Liverpool players not on international duty away to Tenerife for warm-weather training and the 23-year-old has been ever-present in the sessions.

The manager told Liverpoolfc.com: “Of course in the past it was a difficult situation for Flanno because of injury but now it is a good moment and life can go on and [the] sun shines again, things like this.

“[It's] a really good moment for him, very important, and now he can start getting fit because he of course cannot be at 100 per cent. It's completely normal.

“His break was too long but lately from the pre-season on, he's then maybe the old one - what he was before his injury.

“In this moment everything is OK, he makes all the sessions. No rest, no special rest for him - really good.”
