Two of Liverpool Ladies development sides are hoping for glory in two cup finals this weekend.

Kelsey Byrne's development squad will take on Arsenal in the FA WSL Development League Cup at Sutton Coldfield on Saturday (2pm BST), while Matty Campbell's U17s face Everton in the Women's FA Youth Cup final at MK Dons on Sunday.

The development squad booked their ticket for the final against the Gunners after a 3-1 win against Aston Villa in the semi-final, courtesy of goals from Claudia Walker, Beth Donoghue and Hannah Dale.

Byrne said: "We are delighted to reach a cup final and the girls deserve credit for how they've performed. We will be delighted if we can go on and win the cup."

Meanwhile, the U17s face a cup final derby when they take on Everton, in a match just before the FA Women's Cup final between the Blues and Arsenal.

The Reds defeated Blackburn Rovers 5-2 in the last four with two goals from Jess Davenport and efforts from Blue Pendlebury, Olivia Fuller and Mollie Green.

Technical director of Liverpool Ladies' centre of excellence, Kevin Quigley, said: "It should be a great occasion and the girls have done tremendously well to reach the final.

"It speaks volumes for the strength of girls football in Merseyside that the final will feature Liverpool and Everton."
