Liverpool today announced the categories for its very-first awards evening, recognising first-team, ladies and academy players, as well as fans.

The inaugural Players' Awards Dinner will take place on Tuesday May 6 at the Liverpool ACC Conference Centre.

Fans are invited to vote for a number of categories including Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year and Goal of the Year.

The club is also asking fans to submit nominations for the Fan of the Year award, highlighting those individuals that go above and beyond to support their beloved Liverpool, making a difference in their communities and/or showing great courage to overcome adversity. 

Players' Awards Dinner categories:

* Player of the Year - voted for by fans. Click here to cast your vote now

* First-team Players' Player of the Year - voted for by the first team

* Liverpool Ladies Players' Player of the Year - voted for by the Liverpool Ladies

* Academy Players' Player of the Year (U18 and U21) - voted for by the Academy

* Young Player of the Year (player aged 21 or under who has shown exciting growth in the last 12 months) - voted for by fans. Click here to cast your vote now

* Goal of the Season (a shortlist of 10 great goals scored this season) - voted for by fans from Sunday April 27

* Bill Shankly Award (someone who has upheld the club's values, showing dignity, unity, commitment and ambition) - voted for by the LFC Awards Panel

* Supporters' Club of the Year (a fan club that has shown extraordinary support for their beloved Liverpool)  - voted for by the LFC Awards Panel

* Fan of the Year (a fan who goes above and beyond for their club and community, showing great courage to overcome adversity) - voted for by the LFC Awards Panel. Click here to nominate someone now

* Staff Recognition Award (For a member of Liverpool FC staff who is dedicated to Liverpool FC and upholds the Liverpool Way) - voted for by the LFC Awards Panel

* Lifetime Achievement Award (someone who has dedicated their life to Liverpool FC, demonstrating the club values in everything they do) - voted for by the LFC Awards Panel

As part of the event, an auction will be held to raise vital funds for Liverpool FC Foundation, the Club's charity which provides a wide range of sport-inspired programmes throughout the local community and beyond that help to inspire positive change and build better futures for people of all ages.
