Swedish starlet Kristoffer Peterson netted the only goal as Liverpool U21s beat Glentoran 1-0 in Ireland on Wednesday night.

The winger netted in the first-half to finish off a fine move as Alex Inglethorpe's side produced an impressive display.

Czech defender Jakub Sokolik was back in action after missing the second part of last season through injury while there were also debuts at U21 level for stopper Ryan Fulton, Jordan Rossiter and Daniel Trickett-Smith.

Inglethorpe's charges are next in action on Saturday when they take on Scottish side Hearts on the same Oval pitch (kick-off 2.30pm BST).

Liverpool team: Ryan Fulton, Ryan McLaughlin, Craig Roddan, Stephen Sama, Jakub Sokolik, Jordan Lussey, Adam Morgan, Joao Carlos Teixeira, Villyan Bijev, Nacho, Kris Peterson. Subs used: Jack Dunn, Jordan Rossiter, Daniel Trickett-Smith, Lloyd Jones.
