Liverpool began the first full day of their Marbella training camp with another workout in the sunshine as they gear up for the Champions League final with Real Madrid in Kiev.

After breakfast prepped by club chefs at the team hotel, the Reds squad made the short journey to a local football complex by bicycle to start their day’s work at 10.30am local time.

A two-hour session comprised of physical and tactical drills – and a highly-enjoyable and competitive game of foot-tennis, in which the three-man team of Virgil van Dijk, Alberto Moreno and Danny Ings prevailed over the rest of their teammates.

After biking back to the hotel, the squad enjoyed lunch al fresco style on the terrace, with temperatures on the Costa del Sol comfortably exceeding the mid-20s.

A number of players then took part in afternoon media duties as the club continues to work its way through the thousands – literally – of interview requests that have been placed ahead of the showpiece event in Ukraine on May 26.

Van Dijk, Andy Robertson, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jordan Henderson were among those who spoke to journalists.

Jürgen Klopp also had interview duties, including a sit-down with Anfield legend Jan Molby.

With the manager eager to blend hard work with team bonding, the players were then afforded a leisurely afternoon ahead of a team dinner at 7.30pm local time.

Friday will see a similar routine for the Reds before their return to Merseyside on Saturday evening. Stay tuned to Liverpoolfc.com for all the latest news from the Marbella camp.
