Besiktas coach Senol Gunes has dropped a tantalising transfer hint about the future of on-loan Brazilian striker Anderson Talisca.

"I'm sorry that he won't be with us any longer. I wish he could stay for his sake and ours. He already had a deal in place," said Gunes after his side's 5-1 final day defeat of Sivassport.

Pressed on where Talisca might play next season he added: "He might be rivals with Çenk Tosun."

Talisca has spent two seasons on loan at Besiktas from Benfica and scored 27 goals in 55 Super Lig appearances.

But while Liverpool fans were immediately alerted by Gunes' claims - Turkish journalist Firat Gunayer claimed: "Talisca has signed a preliminary protocol with Manchester United.

“Benfica, however, has not yet agreed with the British.

“They are meeting with other clubs.”
