Liverpool have been handed a huge boost in their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain defender Lucas Digne.

The Reds have been linked with the move for the 22-year-old and are in desperate need of a left-back.

Brendan Rodgers only has Alberto Moreno and Jose Enrique in that area of the field, and will no doubt be looking to strengthen there.

Digne's agent Mikkel Beck has hinted his client wants to leave PSG to seek first-team football - something that Liverpool could offer.

He said: "It's simple, there are Euros at the end of the season and Lucas will no longer waste time.

"He wants to re-join the France squad for Euro 2016. And that can only happen with game time. He must be able to play in a big club and, above all, to have a starting spot. Otherwise, it's not worth leaving PSG."
