Reports in Spain claim France international Lucas Digne turned down interest from Liverpool to join Barcelona in the summer.

The 22-year-old signed a five-year contract at the Nou Camp in July after the Catalan giants paid an initial fee of £13.8m to land the left-back from French champions Paris Saint-Germain.

According to Fichajes.net, Liverpool were also in for Digne as manager Jurgen Klopp targeted the player but the Frenchman rejected their advances.

Liverpool were interested in Digne, who came through the youth ranks at Lille, last summer before he moved from PSG to Roma on loan for the season.

They made a second approach, together with Roma who wanted to make Digne's loan move permanent, but lost out to Barcelona.
