Kop 10 v Arsenal (30/10/2026)

The clubs will lock horns once more at Anfield, with Andoni Iraola's team aiming to extend a run of five victories at the expense of the reigning champions.

Liverpool have enjoyed some memorable occasions when the Gunners have visited in the division, taking three points in 17 of the previous 34 meetings.

Here is our Kop 10 countdown of the finest…

10. Liverpool 3-1 Arsenal - August 2019

Jürgen Klopp's European champions were on the hunt for Premier League glory in 2019-20 and this display did their start no harm.

Joel Matip rose highest to meet a corner kick from the right with a clinical header to give Liverpool an advantage just before the first half ended.

Mohamed Salah rasped in a penalty to double that lead and then sprinkled some magic ahead of the hour mark to seal the points.

A shoulder drop took David Luiz out of the game as he turned Fabinho's forward pass into a lovely solo run and typically sumptuous finish for 3-0.

Lucas Torreira's late drive was merely a consolation.

9. Liverpool 4-0 Arsenal - May 1998

Newly-crowned champions Arsenal were much-changed and well-beaten on this trip to Merseyside.

Liverpool captain Paul Ince found the net twice in quick succession near the half-hour mark to give the hosts control.

Michael Owen added a third with an instinctive hook inside the post on 40 minutes and might have glossed the score even more moments later - but missed a penalty.

There was a final flourish from Roy Evans' side in the closing phases, though, with Oyvind Leonhardsen crashing in a finish to complete the rout.

8. Liverpool 4-1 Arsenal - March 2007

Peter Crouch inspired this emphatic victory with a perfect hat-trick.

A confident, close-range effort off his right foot began the scoring with just four minutes on the clock.

The striker then doubled up in the first half via a brilliant header flicked into the net from Fabio Aurelio's looping delivery into the area.

Crouch saved the best until last, bringing a ball under control inside the box, using his heel to open up a shooting chance and finding the onion bag with a left-footer in front of the Kop.

Daniel Agger was also on target for the Reds on the day, while William Gallas mustered Arsenal's only response.

7. Liverpool 2-1 Arsenal - November 2004

This game was punctuated by three goals of high quality - with the decider a famous moment in front of the Kop.

Arsenal arrived on Merseyside as reigning champions and having produced an historic unbeaten campaign in the previous season.

By contrast, Rafael Benitez was still in the early phases of his revolution of the Reds, who went in front courtesy of a sweet Xabi Alonso side-foot after a flowing attack.

Patrick Vieira equalised the score by slotting in at the end of an outstanding passage of passing from the Gunners.

The last, dramatic word came from Neil Mellor, however, who in the second minute of stoppage time met a loose bouncing ball around 30 yards out and sliced a beauty of a hit swerving into the left corner to send Anfield wild.

6. Liverpool 4-0 Arsenal - November 2021

As so often under Klopp, crowd and players joined forces to unstoppable impact for the Reds as they plundered at least two goals for the 15th game in a row.

Aaron Ramsdale had foiled the home side on several occasions before the dam was broken by Sadio Mane's diving header ahead of half-time.

It was 2-0 soon after the interval, with Diogo Jota capitalising on an errant backpass to dance through the Arsenal defence and score the goal he labelled his favourite for the club.

A pair of incisive Liverpool combinations in the space of four minutes later in the game saw Salah and Takumi Minamino truly reflect the dominance.

5. Liverpool 4-0 Arsenal - December 2000

A season famous for Liverpool's adventures and glories in cup competitions featured its share of memorable league matches too.

And this was certainly one.

Steven Gerrard's rifled strike from 20 yards out just 11 minutes into the first half set Gerard Houllier's team on their way to what would become a comprehensive victory.

The midfielder was joined among the goals by Owen, Nick Barmby and Robbie Fowler - with the latter two beating Alex Manninger in the away goal with similarly lovely deft touches.

4. Liverpool 4-0 Arsenal - August 2017

This was the first - but far from the last - Anfield match in which legendary trio Roberto Firmino, Mane and Salah all scored.

A glancing header by the former got Liverpool in front 17 minutes in and Mane then chopped infield from the left and arced a beauty into the far corner.

Any doubts about the result were eradicated as the hour mark approached and Salah pounced on a miscontrol when an Arsenal corner was cleared.

The Egyptian, newly embarking on life with the Reds, sprinted almost the length of the pitch to plant the ball into the net and receive the Kop's acclaim.

Daniel Sturridge nodded in goal No.4 from Salah's cross to cap off a performance Klopp hailed as 'perfect' - "and the result was the result of the performance".

3. Liverpool 3-0 Arsenal - August 1994

Four-and-a-half minutes.

That is the sum total of time Fowler required to flabbergast Arsenal in this encounter with a record-breaking hat-trick.

It began with an instinctive tuck past opposition goalkeeper David Seaman midway through the opening half.

Moments later, Fowler peeled into space in the left channel to collect Steve McManaman's pass and angle a pinpoint strike back across goal into the far corner.

Almost instantly from the restart of play, he ran through to John Barnes' lofted ball and - though needing two attempts on this occasion - beat Seaman a third time.

A sublime 273 seconds.

2. Liverpool 5-1 Arsenal - December 2018

This was a late extra Christmas present for Kopites as the Gunners were stuffed under the Anfield lights.

The visitors actually took the lead through Ainsley Maitland-Niles from close range, but Liverpool were immediately irrepressible in response.

Firmino equalised with a no-look finish and quickly followed up to put the Reds in front with a slalom around Arsenal's defence worthy of a ballet.

Goals from Mane and Salah (penalty) made it 4-1 by half-time and Firmino later added a ribbon to the result and sealed a hat-trick with his own spot-kick.

1. Liverpool 5-1 Arsenal - February 2014

A savage exhibition of attacking play put the result of this lunchtime match beyond doubt within 20 minutes of it starting.

Brendan Rodgers' swashbuckling side of 2013-14 ripped through the Gunners and led 4-0 before the midway point of the first half.

Martin Skrtel (two), Raheem Sterling and Sturridge were on the scoresheet amid a blitz, during which Luis Suarez also smacked a stunning half-volley from long range off the woodwork.

Sterling enhanced the advantage to five on 52 minutes, rendering Mikel Arteta's subsequent penalty far from even a consolation.

"That is right up there," said Gerrard afterwards. "That's definitely in the top three performances I have been involved in."
