Former Jurgen Klopp favourite Neven Subotic has seen his odds to join Liverpool slashed after a number of overnight bets in Germany.

The centre-back has confirmed he is set to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer, with Sunderland linked with a move for the Serbian.

But Subotic was also linked with a move to Anfield in January, and it appears several people in Germany believe a reunion is on the cards.

The 27-year-old’s odds on joining the Reds has dropped from 4/1 to 6/4 favourites with German bookmaker Bwin.

Glenn Woodage, bookmaker for Bwin, said: “After confirming his departure from Borussia Dortmund, Neven Subotic has been hotly touted to come to the Premier League.

“A former stalwart for Jurgen Klopp, our markets have taken a massive intake in bets on the Serbian defender joining his former manager, especially with Liverpool’s defence needing patching up.”
