Real Madrid winger Denis Cheryshev is far more likely to end up at Sevilla than Liverpool.

Sportsmail understands that the Russian international will sign for Spanish manager Unai Emery if they can free up a place in their squad.

The 25-year-old hasn't featured once in the matchday squad for Real under new manager Zinedine Zidane.

He wants to leave as soon as he can so that he gives himself the best possible chance of playing football and breaking into the Russia side at Euro 2016.

It is thought that the asking price for Cheryshev is £7million and Sevilla are said to be winning the race for his signature.

Zidane said recently: "We'll see but yes, Cheryshev could leave. He's a great player but he needs to play."

It is believed that Sevilla's sporting director, Monchi, has began communications between the two La Liga clubs.

Cheryshev did go out on loan to Sevilla in the 2013-14 season but made only four appearances.

Liverpool are interested in the player but have so far not made a formal offer for the player.

It has also been reported that a handful of teams in Germany's Bundesliga and the Russian Premier League would like to sign him.
