Liverpool are unlikely to land either Alex Texieria and Denis Cheryshev before tonight's 11pm transfer deadline.

Liverpool have been pursuing Shakhtar Donetsk star lex Teixeira for most of the January window.

The Reds hijacked Chelsea's interest in the Brazilian winger with chief executive Ian Ayre flying out to the USA to lodge an initial £25million bid.

However, Shakhtar responded by telling Liverpool they valued Teixeira at £38m - which was then upped to £53m.

And Express Sport understands there is unlikely to be much activity at Anfield today with Liverpool set to revisit their interest in Teixeira this summer.

Kop boss Jurgen Klopp has previously stated Liverpool would not throw money around as if they were at "Disneyland" - and it seems they won't be spending today.

Liverpool have also been linked with Real Madrid winger Cheryshev, with boss Zinedine Zidane admitting he "could leave".

But Express Sport understands Klopp has no plans to sign the Russia international.
