Jürgen Klopp, the Liverpool manager, is understood to be planning a return to Germany for a double swoop on former club Borussia Dortmund, according to reports.

Klopp, who managed Borussia Dortmund for seven years, is "desperate" to reunite with Marco Reus, the German forward, according to the ever reliable Spanish website Fichajes while Bild, the German tabloid, claims the Liverpool manager is also considering a move for centre-back Neven Subotic.

Reus, who worked with Klopp at the Westfalenstadion, is being watched by both Liverpool and Real Madrid, but the pair's past relationship may play a deciding factor in the player's future should he decide to quit the Bundesliga.

Subotic, meanwhile, has fallen out of favour with Thomas Tuchel, the Dortmund coach, and has played for the club just twice this season.

Bild claims that Klopp is a huge admirer of Subotic who is now in line for a move to Anfield.

Liverpool are also understood to be keen on signing Suárez - Mario Suárez - according to Fichajes.

Suárez, who is currently it Fiorentina after a summer move from Atletico Madrid, has struggled to settle in Italy and could be ready to end his miserable time in Serie A. The 28-year-old midfielder would cost in the region of £6m.
